We combine pre-purchase counseling with financial assistance (down payment or match savings programs) to help eligible, low- income, first time homebuyers open the door to homeownership.
Housing Solutions is a HUD approved housing counseling agency and our Housing Counselors are trained and certified through NeighborWorks. Through confidential, one-on-one assistance we help families in northern Arizona prepare for homeownership and navigate the purchase process.
Workforce Initiative Subsidy for Homeownership (WISH)
Up to $5,500 of an eligible low-income buyer’s funds are matched 4 to 1 with up to $22,000 in assistance. Part of the buyer’s contribution can be gift funds, however a minimum of $2,000 or 1% of the purchase price (whichever is greater) must come from the buyer.
The WISH program fee (4% of assistance) is paid through closing so clients do not have out-of-pocket upfront expenses. Download the flyer below to learn more.
City of Flagstaff Employer Assisted Housing (EAH)
The City of Flagstaff will provide up to $10,000 per household to eligible employees to be used for down payment and/or closing cost on the purchase of a home. Download the flyer below to learn more.
Community Homebuyer Assistance Program (CHAP)
The Community Housing Assistance Program (CHAP) is intended to educate and serve households that are working towards the purchase of a home within the Flagstaff city limits. Funded by the City of Flagstaff, CHAP is a downpayment and closing cost assistance initiative that provides up to $15,000 in matching funds to households that do not have sufficient cash to purchase a home, but are otherwise mortgage eligible based on credit & employment. Flagstaff Community Land Trust Program (FCLT)
This is a housing program administered by the City of Flagstaff. It is used as a tool to help provide ownership opportunities to Flagstaff residents who may not be able to afford a home in the open market. The program is designed to help first time homebuyers by reducing the cost of housing. The long-term affordability of the unit is maintained because the home owner accepts restrictions on the equity and appreciation in exchange for the reduced price of the home. The homebuyer only purchases the house and improvements, while leasing the land from the City through a 99-year renewable ground lease. Download the flyer below to learn more.
